Nebraska team members donate warm clothing to the Tri-City Food Pantry
Nebraska winter coat drive

Black Hills Energy team members in Nebraska collected and donated 25 new and gently used coats, as well as hats, gloves and mittens, to the Tri-City Food Pantry, in Papillion, Nebraska.

Scott, a gas technician, and Wendi, operations support, delivered the donations on Nov. 12.

The food pantry’s director, Melissa Nelson, said she’s eager to distribute the donations, especially with colder temperatures expected in the coming weeks. She thanked everyone at Black Hills Energy for their generosity. “These warm coats will fill the gap for families and seniors who don’t otherwise qualify for help,” she says.

According to the Tri-City Food Pantry website, “Many people believe that the problems associate with hunger are confined to small pockets of society or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different. Many people in our community are struggling with hunger. They may have recently lost a job or are disabled and unable to work. They are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet.”
