Medical Extension program
The Medical Extension program is available to residential customers whose utility service is medically essential, as certified by a licensed physician, to avoid death or serious medical complications requiring immediate hospitalization. The program offers qualifying customers a limited extension of time to pay their utility bill. The number of extension days varies by state. Download the certificate of medical extension, have it completed by your licensed physician or health care practitioner, and fax the completed form to 1-605-719-9921. If approved, collection activity will be postponed on your account for the eligible period of time.
