Grimes, Ia.– April 28, 2020 - Black Hills Energy is proud to announce Pete Hamell as the new director of operations.  In this position, Hamell will provide overall leadership, management and direction for the Black Hills Energy Iowa Gas field operations team.

Hamell was raised on a farm near Gowrie, Iowa and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration -Finance degree from Iowa State University. He previously worked for Ingram Barge and BNSF Railway with extensive leadership experience in operations, logistics and customer service in railway and transportation industries.

“Pete’s proven success as a leader of people, combined with a focus on safety and customer service will allow him to serve our company and customers well,” said Shirley Welte, Black Hills Energy Vice President of Gas Operations.

Pete and his family are relocating from the greater Nashville, Tennessee area.
