“This project is necessary to replace an aging pipeline that is at the end of its’ service life,” said Gary Hogan, Manager of Wyoming Gas Operations. “Additionally, we will be able to provide natural gas service to those who desire it, along to route, in the Orin area.”

Work on the new 6-inch pipeline will begin at the intersection of Robin Lane and Irvine Road in Douglas. The project will then continue for 13.5-miles on Irvine Road into the Orin area. Customers potentially impacted by the construction have been notified in advance, by Black Hills Energy, through letters mailed to their homes.

Black Hills Energy has contracted this infrastructure project to Loenbro. Construction crews will be using vehicles marked as Black Hills Energy contractors and will be wearing appropriate identification.

“We will also restore the construction areas, leaving them in the same or better condition than we found them.”

“Our contract crews will make every effort to provide customers with notification before beginning road work in the area,” said Hogan. “We will also restore the construction areas, leaving them in the same or better condition than we found them.”

It may be necessary to interrupt natural gas service to existing customers in the Orin area for a brief time during the second phase of this project. Black Hills Energy will reach out to individual customers who may be impacted prior to the interruption. The project is expected to be completed by late fall.
