Donations benefit food banks
Donation check presented to the upton food bank

The holidays are a joyful time for many of us, but they can be difficult for people who struggle to put food on the table.

Black Hills Energy has pitched in to help meet local needs with contributions to Black Hills area food banks. The Upton Food Bank in Upton, Wyoming, recently received a visit from Black Hills Energy employees who presented them with a $500 check to help feed people in the Upton community.

Other local food banks receiving contributions include the Sturgis (South Dakota) Kiwanis Food Pantry; the Hot Springs (South Dakota) Ministerial Association Food Bank; the Lord’s Cupboard in Lead, South Dakota; the Newell/Vale/Nisland (South Dakota) Food Pantry at the NVN Senior Center; the Black Hills Baptist Church Lord’s Kitchen in Whitewood, South Dakota; the Spearfish Community Food Pantry in Spearfish, South Dakota; the Belle Fourche Compassion Cupboard in Belle Fourche, South Dakota; Bread Inc. in Newcastle, Wyoming; the Edgemont Ministerial Food Pantry in Edgemont, South Dakota; and the Hill City Community Food Pantry in Hill City, South Dakota.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
