A very 2020 way to celebrate our veterans
bellevue

In years past Black Hills Energy has enjoyed being a sponsor of the Military Relations Golf Tournament. The event is organized by The Greater Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce and has been well attended with the support of many local sponsors. The golfing event has been used to raise awareness and funds for the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home, also located in Bellevue, Nebraska.

This year however, the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted to cancel the tournament to comply with CDC health directives. Instead, the group organized a celebratory drive by for the veteran’s home, a fly over from the Offutt Air Force Base and planned to present each veteran with a personal gift bag.

With time of the essence, the chamber asked their sponsors for donations. The Papillion Team decided to kick it up a notch by making and delivering 116 of our own gift bags. Each bag included a pen, lip balm, activity book and snack.

Two of our team members who are veterans represented Black Hills Energy with their trucks in the drive by parade.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
