Students learn gas safety in York, Nebraska
safety

Members of our team in York, Nebraska, recently participated in the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day held by the York County Farm Bureau and York County Extension Office.

During the annual event, first through sixth graders from across York County experienced a day of learning focused on safety topics spanning a variety of areas including natural gas, equipment, water, electrical, internet and agricultural.

Team members Dylan, Todd, and Mindy educated the students on gas safety, covering what natural gas smells like and what to do if they smell gas (call 911!).

The students were also able to see and use some of the leak detection and safety equipment Black Hills Energy uses when responding to an emergency, as well as get a first-hand experience of what a natural gas ignition looks like.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
