Black Hills Energy plans to advance its 2030 Ready Clean Energy Plan with 400 megawatts (MW) of new renewable energy resources, including utility-scale solar and battery storage projects to be constructed in Pueblo County, and a wind energy project in northeastern Colorado. This preferred portfolio of resources is identified in the company’s Clean Energy Plan 120-Day report submitted with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) for review and approval.
The Black Hills Energy distribution system plays a role in delivering communication services to our communities through our pole attachment process.
This process, which utilizes SPANS assists us in partnering with companies that seek to attach infrastructure to Black Hills Energy distribution poles in order to deliver future technologies.
Our pole attachment office serves as a point of contact for companies and can assist you with the following services:
Occasionally, trees can fall into utility lines and pose dangers and power outages, surges, fires and other damage. Downed power lines are especially dangerous. A tree that is at risk of falling into a power line is also dangerous. Although almost every tree will have some sort of defect, the presence of multiple items from the check list can increase the likelihood of vegetation interfering with electrical lines.
