NGU Workers' Day celebrated with Razorback Baseball win in Arkansas
Arkansas Razorbacks baseball

Continuing its partnership with Razorback Baseball, Black Hills Energy in Arkansas sponsored a game on National Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day on the first weekend of SEC play March 18.

Although it was unseasonably cold, the Arkansas team had a good time cheering on the Hogs to a win. Also, in keeping with the company's baseball tradition, Business Development Manager John Rowland selected a veteran to throw out the first pitch. We were happy to be joined by U.S. Army Sgt. Hanley Taylor, who served in Iraq with honors, along with his wife, Amber, and their grandson Sawyer.

As a new part of the partnership, Black Hills Energy had a message throughout the week in the popular Razorback Daily podcast, which turned out to be the best week — right after it was announced the men's Razorback Basketball team was headed to the NCAA Tournament and successfully survived initial rounds of March Madness.

Other service awareness at the March 18 game included the business development team staffing a table with promotional items at a great spot near the entry, new mascot Tusk V (only his second public appearance) and hot cocoa. Public announcements throughout the game recognized Black Hills Energy's service in Arkansas, Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day and Call 811 Before You Dig. Black Hills Energy also has signs throughout the season behind home plate and in the outfield. Go Hogs!
